The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chris throws an overhand right that lands on Ibragimov Ii's shoulder, as Ibragimov Ii tries to avoid the shot.
Ibragimov Ii avoids the body shot from Chris.
Chris swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ibragimov Ii fails with the takedown
enabling Chris to counter with a crisp jab.
Ibragimov Ii shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chris as he jumps to the side.
Ibragimov Ii misses with a takedown attempt - Chris sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Chris swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Big Chris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Ibragimov Ii.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ibragimov Ii accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chris can't keep his opponent in guard - Ibragimov Ii advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ibragimov Ii uses his free foot to push down on Chris's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chris.
Chris is bucking up trying to escape but Ibragimov Ii cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Ibragimov Ii lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
