PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Glanton (ranked 4042 p4p, 4044 weight class) and Jak Mora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mora has chosen Nikes On My Feet as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Glanton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jak Mora!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mora will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Glanton seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Mora tries to bum rush Glanton with a series of wild strikes but Glanton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Glanton scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mora doesn't seem bothered though.

Glanton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Glanton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
A lull in the action here as Glanton stalls from top position.
Mora manages to work his way to half guard, despite Glanton's best efforts.

Mora is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Glanton pulls his head out easily.

Mora is looking for a sweep.
Glanton connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mora some visible discomfort.
Mora is trying to improve his position.

Mora tries to improve position but can't.

Glanton decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mora to his feet.
Jak Mora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mora gets tackled into the cage by Glanton. Glanton maintains the clinch.
Mora jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Glanton walks away with a smile on his face. Mora gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Glanton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Glanton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mora is trying to control Glanton's posture but Glanton avoids it.

Mora is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Glanton's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mora makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mora.

Mora throws his legs up looking for a submission but Glanton uses it to pass to side control.
Glanton gets to mount! Mora was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Mora bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Glanton pushes Mora up against the cage in a clinch.
Mora is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mora goes for a takedown attempt but Glanton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Glanton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mora for as long as he can get away with.

Glanton decides to stand back up. Glanton steps back and let's Mora get back to his feet.

Glanton drives through with a takedown into Mora's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Mora is still in real trouble! Can Glanton finish him?

Mora is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Glanton passes Mora's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Glanton takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Glanton seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mora has a hand on Glanton's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Glanton takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Glanton is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mora has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Mora breaks Glanton's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mora stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Glanton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mora has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Glanton is proving hard to escape from.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mora is pressing down on Glanton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Glanton is holding on for now.
Glanton is controlling Mora's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Mora wants to pass to mount but Glanton is defending the position.
Mora wants to control but Glanton is keeping him busy.
Glanton holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Glanton slips a nice elbow through Mora's hands, connecting with Mora's forehead.

Mora is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Glanton scores with a couple of nice shots.
Still in half guard, Glanton seems content to control.

Glanton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Glanton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Some bone on bone action there as Glanton checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Mora avoids the head kick by Glanton.
Mora changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Mora shoots in looking for a takedown. Glanton tries to sprawl out of it but Mora keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Glanton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Glanton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
