Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karl Lagerfield (ranked 4082 p4p, 4220 weight class) and Shinya Ikeda (ranked 0 p4p, 368 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Ikeda!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lagerfield closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ikeda circles away.
Ikeda moves into the clinch.
Ikeda lands a takedown into guard.

Ikeda cracks Lagerfield with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Lagerfield looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ikeda finish him?

Ikeda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oh Lagerfield is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ikeda misses with a low kick.
Lagerfield throwing a counter right hand but Ikeda manages to avoid it.
Ikeda throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A quick step to the side and Lagerfield tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lagerfield seems to have got his legs back now.
Ikeda drops Lagerfield with a beautiful combination! Lagerfield stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ikeda is looking for the KO!

Lagerfield shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ikeda defends it nicely.
Ikeda unleashes a big counter combination but Lagerfield bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karl Lagerfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lagerfield checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lagerfield blocks the body kick.
Ikeda shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lagerfield is trying to defend but Ikeda finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lagerfield is breathing heavily.
Ikeda is controlling the pace.

Ikeda wants to pass the guard but Lagerfield is defending well.

Ikeda drops Lagerfield with a beautiful combination! Lagerfield stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ikeda is looking for the KO!
Ikeda throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Lagerfield's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Ikeda dives in looking to finish as Lagerfield flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Ikeda's strikes! Ikeda is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Lagerfield's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Lagerfield was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shinya Ikeda!
