In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 34 wins and 32 losses; Able Archer! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Adam Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Archer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Johnson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Archer jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Archer around his waist. Archer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Archer gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Archer still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Archer has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

A lull in the action here as Archer stalls from top position.
Archer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Johnson tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Archer presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've been hearing good reports from Archer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

You can see the frustration on Archer's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Archer has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Johnson is persistently looking for the submission but Archer is defending it well.

Archer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with.

Archer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Johnson is looking for a sweep. Archer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Archer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Archer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape.
Archer is really struggling to control Johnson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Johnson regains half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Archer takes the fight on points by 14 to 6.
A relieved looking Able Archer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
