Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ieuan Thomas (ranked 4850 p4p, 5759 weight class) and Drud Simpson (ranked 474 p4p, 510 weight class). Drud Simpson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ieuan Thomas's chin.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Topper Green and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thomas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simpson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Simpson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Thomas asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
