PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jello Belly (ranked 1687 p4p, 1934 weight class) and Jach Bresnar (ranked 232 p4p, 254 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belly gets caught flat footed, as Bresnar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bresnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Belly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bresnar looking to sit in guard and control but Belly gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Belly passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bresnar is trying to control Belly's posture but Belly avoids it.

Belly stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bresnar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Belly sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belly doesn't manage to clinch there - Bresnar circles away.
Belly sets himself, and Bresnar steps forward looking for the clinch! Belly avoids it this time.

It looked like Belly wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Belly shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bresnar has his hands on Belly's head, controlling the position.
Belly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bresnar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Belly thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Belly closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Belly throws a lazy right hand but Bresnar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
And Bresnar tries to counter it with a takedown but Belly pushes his down on his head and steps out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bresnar tries to sprawl but Belly drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Belly stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bresnar to get to his feet.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Belly, as that shot connected.

Our spies down at at Canadian Combat Academy inform us that Bresnar has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Belly is pushing down on Bresnar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bresnar is fighting to maintain full guard but Belly has managed to sneak the leg through.

Belly maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bresnar could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Belly has cracked it and Bresnar is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Belly!
