Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lorato Nyambe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thufir Hawat!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nyambe shoots and misses
and Hawat counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nyambe tries to clinch up
and Hawat connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Nyambe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hawat was covering up waiting for the punch and Nyambe finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nyambe postures up in Hawat's guard and throws a big left but Hawat blocks it.
Nyambe throwing strikes but missing.
Hawat looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nyambe trying to control but Hawat is working from the bottom.
Nyambe throws an elbow that misses. Hawat uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nyambe's guard. Nice move by Hawat!

Hawat slips nicely into half guard.
Hawat seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Hawat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hawat's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Nyambe is trying to escape back to his feet but Hawat uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Hawat in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Nyambe is letting Hawat control him for a moment.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The strikes coming from Hawat are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Hawat tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Nyambe is trying to escape the position but Hawat is controlling the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hawat with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Nyambe tries to clinch up
and Hawat cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Nyambe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hawat throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Nyambe on the side of the head.
Nyambe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hawat counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hawat digs a good hook to Nyambe's body.
Thufir Hawat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nyambe is breathing heavily.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hawat.
Hawat lands a high kick!

Hawat lands a big head kick that sends Nyambe tumbling to the mat! Hawat takes a step backwards and waves Nyambe back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Nyambe is rocked!
Hawat lands with an overhand left.
Oh Nyambe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nyambe tries for a takedown but Hawat circles away easily
letting Hawat counter with a right hand.
Hawat throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Nyambe crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
