PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Camataru (ranked 4220 p4p, 4229 weight class) and Juan Laguna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Camataru.

Laguna closes the distance and clinches.
Camataru looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Camataru takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Laguna has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Laguna drops down looking for an ankle pick but Camataru pulls his leg out and moves away.

Laguna gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laguna jumps guard but Camataru stands there with Laguna around his waist. Laguna gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Laguna is pushing Camataru up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Laguna fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Laguna drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Camataru gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Vladimir Camataru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Laguna.

Camataru wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Laguna tries to break free but Camataru pushes him back against the cage.
Laguna has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Camataru avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Camataru tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laguna smiles and moves away.

Camataru wants to clinch up but Laguna keeps it at a distance.
Camataru misses with a two punch combination.
Laguna looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Camataru is fending him off so far but Laguna persists. Nope, Camataru circles away and we're back to standing.

Camataru shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Laguna is trying to defend but Camataru finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Laguna wants to get back to full guard but Camataru has passed into side control.
Camataru wants to control but Laguna is keeping him busy.
Laguna looking for a sweep but Camataru has passed into full mount! Oh no!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laguna can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Camataru looking to control but Laguna is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Laguna trying desperately to get to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laguna tries to hold on but Camataru postures up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Laguna is looking to improve his position but Camataru isn't that keen on the idea.

Camataru wants to control but Laguna is keeping him busy.

Camataru wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laguna keeps working.

Laguna is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Camataru jumps into side control!
Camataru is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Laguna can do to turn this around?

Camataru is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Laguna is trying to escape and Camataru transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Laguna is forced to tap! Nice work there by Camataru! Very nice indeed!
