The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donald shoots in for a double leg but Wayz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Donald clinches up with Wayz and pushes him back against the cage.

Donald has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wayz uses from the top position.
Wayz is working Donald over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Donald tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wayz just stands there and leans against the cage.

Wayz tightens his grip and picks Donald up, before dumping him to the ground. Donald manages to land in guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Donald enables Wayz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Donald manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wayz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Wayz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
