The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Scott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nogueira sprawls well initially but Scott persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Nogueira (0) vs (2) Scott
Scott controlling the pace.
Nogueira tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Scott has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Score +3 for passing guard: Nogueira (0) vs (5) Scott
Nogueira is trying to escape the mount.

Nogueira regains half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nogueira knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Nogueira gets full guard.
Nogueira is looking to cinch up a triangle. Scott throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Nogueira's body to avoid the submission. Nogueira has instead reached around Scott's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nogueira arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A relieved looking Diego Nogueira thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
