This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 11 losses; Marc Read! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 14 losses; Kevin Walters!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Read pushes Walters up against the cage in a clinch.

We've been hearing good reports from Read's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Walters felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Walters content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Read has locked up a guillotine! Read's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Walters is holding on here and Read must be using up a lot of energy. Walters has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Read gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
