PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pinky Eye (ranked 3078 p4p, 3927 weight class) and Hassan Mohammad (ranked 400 p4p, 485 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Eye might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Antti Tuisku - Grind mayhem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pinky Eye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hassan Mohammad!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mohammad throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mohammad swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Eye counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eye landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Mohammad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eye. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Eye wants to take a breather but Mohammad is having none of it.
Eye perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eye prevents Mohammad from standing back up.
Eye missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Mohammad is trying to stand back up but Eye is controlling him
Mohammad wants to stand back up but Eye manages to pass into side control.
Mohammad wants to get back to his feet but Eye drags him back down.
Eye definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Eye tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Eye wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mohammad, who protects the arm well.
Eye connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mohammad some visible discomfort.

Mohammad is trying to buck Eye off.
Eye has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Eye fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Mohammad is trying to stand up.

Eye with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Mohammad avoids a series of strikes thrown by Eye.

Eye is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mohammad to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mohammad shrugs it off.
Mohammad is trying to escape the mount but Eye keeps good control and instead manages to take Mohammad's back.
Mohammad wants to get back to his feet.
Mohammad is trapped and Eye is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Eye connects with a big shot to the side of Mohammad's head.

Eye has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mohammad is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Eye.

Eye is working for a rear naked choke. Mohammad is not defending it well and Eye has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Mohammad refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Mohammad's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
