Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russian Bear (ranked 3978 p4p, 3888 weight class) and Pavel Sova (ranked 489 p4p, 479 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Pavel Sova enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sova lands a jab.
Bear shoots in looking for a takedown. Sova tries to sprawl out of it but Bear keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sova manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sova darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Russian Bear has been cut.
Bear throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sova's waist but Sova gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bear off to one side.

Sova takes the fight into the clinch.
Bear drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sova pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russian Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bear closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sova has Bear pressed against the cage, preventing Bear from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Sova unloads a knee to the mid-section. Bear lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Bear jumps guard but Sova stands there with Bear around his waist. Bear gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bear is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sova is defending well.
Bear can't get the takedown.
Bear stalling in the clinch but Sova improves position.

Sova pushes Bear back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Oh Bear is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bear jumps guard but Sova stands there with Bear around his waist. Bear gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sova digs a right hand underneath Bear's ribcage. Bear let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bear tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sova's elbow.
Sova throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bears head.
Bear looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Sova digs a right hand into Bear's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bear's gas tank.
Bear is breathing heavily.

Sova creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Bear with a big uppercut! Bear tries to clinch up but Sova pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Bear to the mat! Bear covers up and Sova unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
