Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Rawse (ranked 5208 p4p, 2946 weight class) and Doug Slugs (ranked 169 p4p, 113 weight class). Slugs is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Too Bad - By Me. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rawse takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Ricky Rawse has been cut.
Slugs tries to clinch up but Rawse circles away and keeps his distance.
Rawse connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Slugs momentarily.
Slugs is looking to clinch but Rawse is avoiding it.

Rawse closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rawse not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Slugs on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Slugs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rawse pulls his head out easily.

Rawse looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slugs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

I was talking to Rawse's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Slugs creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Slugs pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Rawse is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Slugs is keeping busy.

Rawse is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Slugs lands a vicious elbow to the side of Rawse's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Slugs tries to finish him with strikes but Rawse still seems able to defend himself so Slugs steps back and lets Rawse get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.

Rawse is rocked!

Ricky Rawse's cut is getting worse.
Slugs closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Rawse out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
