Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Fisher (ranked 1463 p4p, 1643 weight class) and Jetmir Erminus (ranked 148 p4p, 169 weight class). Jetmir Erminus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jetmir Erminus!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Erminus gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Erminus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Erminus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fisher but Fisher pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fisher checks a low kick from Erminus.
A little feinted left hand from Fisher on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Erminus throws a leg kick but Fisher sees it coming and moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Erminus darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Fisher definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Erminus throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fisher counters with a right hand to the body.
Erminus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Erminus closes the distance and clinches up with Fisher, looking for a takedown. Erminus pushes Fisher against the cage but Fisher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
John Fisher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jetmir Erminus.
Erminus fails to land the takedown.
A counter left hand to the body from Fisher misses its target.
Fisher takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fisher walks into a left hand.
Jetmir Erminus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Erminus misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Erminus misses with an uppercut
and Fisher cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Erminus lands with a right hand.
Erminus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fisher counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Fisher drops his hands momentarily and Erminus takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
John Fisher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fisher on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Erminus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Erminus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Erminus goes for a double leg but Fisher avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fisher continues to drive forward.
An attempted straight right counter from Fisher misses the target.
Fisher gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Erminus changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Erminus cracks Fisher with an open hand slap.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Fisher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Fisher counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Erminus feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fishers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Erminus dives in for a single leg takedown but Fisher sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Fisher throwing a counter right hand but Erminus manages to avoid it.

Erminus's jab looks to have found its range, popping Fisher under the eye.
Erminus takes a swing at Fisher's ribcage but misses.
Erminus gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Fisher counters with a nice right hand that sends Erminus toppling to the canvas! Erminus scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Fisher finish him?!

Erminus is rocked!

Fisher displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Erminus throws out the jab.
Fisher swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Erminus paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fisher gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Erminus wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
Erminus throws an elbow that misses. Fisher uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Erminus's guard. Nice move by Fisher!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Erminus is on top in guard.

My spies in London MMA Club inform me that Erminus has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Erminus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Erminus wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
Erminus postures up in Fisher's guard and throws a big left but Fisher blocks it.
Erminus is looking to work some ground and pound but Fisher has wrist control.
Erminus preventing the sweep.
Erminus trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Erminus throws a strike but Fisher rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Erminus pulls Fisher in close to prevent any damage.
Fisher would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Erminus wants to sweep here but Fisher controlling him for the moment.

Fisher decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Erminus throws a good cross that connects.
A big right from Erminus misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

John Fisher dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Erminus lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Erminus misses with a shot to the body
and Fisher counters with a stiff right hand.

Erminus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Erminus landing strikes.

Erminus is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fisher is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Erminus is looking to take a break and control but Fisher is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Erminus fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Fisher takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Erminus is staying tight to Fisher's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Fisher taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Erminus is putting a hurting on Fisher here, landing some big shots from side control.
Jetmir Erminus has got the better of the ground game so far.
Erminus tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Erminus looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Fisher parries the strikes from Erminus easily there. Erminus is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Fisher to escape.
Erminus tries to score with some ground and pound. Fisher controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Fisher is trying to improve his position.

Erminus looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Erminus misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Fisher tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Erminus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Erminus looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Fisher is avoiding damage well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A low kick lands for Erminus.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Erminus tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fisher defends well and Erminus ends up having to push Fisher into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Fisher counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jetmir Erminus seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Erminus connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A left lands for Erminus.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A left and a right from Erminus both land. Nice combination.

Jetmir Erminus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Erminus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jetmir Erminus decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
