Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Elkins (ranked 3624 p4p, 2510 weight class) and Albert Vortmont (ranked 396 p4p, 298 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Elkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Central Cee - Loading. Albert Vortmont will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Albert Vortmont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Elkins takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Vortmont fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Elkins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Elkins moves in looking to clinch but Vortmont pushes him off.

Vortmont is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Elkins crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vortmont - the referee stops the clock and Elkins gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vortmont. Elkins manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Elkins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Elkins is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Elkins is backing up but Vortmont catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Elkins covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Vortmont Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
