Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bertel Haardt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russel Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Haardt.
Haardt appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

I was talking to Haardt's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Haardt is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wilson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Haardt to the mat. Haardt regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilson connects with a nice short shot to Haardt's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Haardt tries to kick Wilson off in order to stand up. Wilson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Haardt is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wilson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Wilson has hold of Haardt's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Haardt tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Wilson cranks the arm and Haardt screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Haardt, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
