Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uva Montero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Asanoyama Hideki!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hideki takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Montero lands a nice hook to Hideki's body. Hideki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hideki fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Montero checks it well.
Montero scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hideki fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Montero is out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Hideki 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Montero smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Montero cracks Hideki with an open hand slap.
Montero scores with the left hand. Hideki knows he should have avoided that one.
Montero thuds his right hand into Hideki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Montero lands with an uppercut that bounces Hideki off the cage and back into range.
Hideki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hideki takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Montero connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Montero lands a left and a right that send Hideki crashing to the mat, dazed. Montero thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Asanoyama Hideki has been cut.
Montero connects with a body shot that sends Hideki's belly button to the back.
Hideki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hideki connects with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Montero feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hideki sprawling to the canvas! Hideki rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Montero finish him?!

Hideki is rocked!
Montero swats away the attempt to clinch by Hideki.
Hideki takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hideki takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Montero scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hideki doesn't seem bothered though.
Hideki takes one to the chin there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hideki fails with the takedown.
Hideki looks winded!
Hideki tries to clinch but Montero is having none of it.
Montero cracks a nice hook into Hideki's ribs.
Hideki tries to move into range but Montero moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Uva Montero is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Montero ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A jab from Montero finds it's way through Hideki's defenses.
Montero drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Hideki right on the button. Hideki goes down! Montero follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Montero gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Uva Montero!
A very excited looking Uva Montero made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
