Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Bared (ranked 4483 p4p, 4541 weight class) and JC Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sheldon Bared!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, JC Cartwright!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright ducks under a wild hook from Bared.
Cartwright throws a leg kick that misses.
Bared throws a head kick but Cartwright moves out of range.
Bared throws a sloppy head kick and Cartwright moves out of range easily.
Bared swings for the body but Cartwright moves out of range.
Bared pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And Cartwright responds with a good body kick, but Bared manages to step out the way in time.
Cartwright fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bared avoids it really well and circles away.

Cartwright instigates a clinch.
Bared really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bared looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cartwright content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Cartwright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cartwright tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bared defends well and Cartwright ends up having to push Bared into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bared throws a head kick that misses.
And Cartwright tries to counter it with a takedown but Bared pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bared tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
JC Cartwright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cartwright shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bared sprawls well. Bared wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cartwright gets slowly back to his feet.
Sheldon Bared has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JC Cartwright.
Bared moves in looking to clinch but Cartwright pushes him off.
Cartwright blocks a head kick by Bared.
Cartwright looks to land a combination but Bared avoids it well.

Bared drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cartwright sprawls and moves away.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bared wanted to stand there but Cartwright had control of the position.

Cartwright manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bared wants to stand but Cartwright is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cartwright pulls Bared in close to his closed guard and prevents Bared from doing any damage or advancing position.

Cartwright is looking for a triangle but Bared pushes his legs off easily.
Cartwright has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bared wanted to stand there but Cartwright had control of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cartwright pulls Bared in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bared fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cartwright manages to avoid it.
Bared throws a series of punches but Cartwright moves out of range.
Bared tries to clinch there but Cartwright circles away.
Cartwright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cartwright closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cartwright is trying to push Bared away but Bared has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cartwright's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cartwright is trying to pull guard but Bared turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

JC Cartwright dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bared is looking to clinch but Cartwright is avoiding it.
A head kick misses from Bared.
And Cartwright tries to counter it with a takedown but Bared pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bared fails in his attempt to clinch.
Cartwright shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bared as he avoids it easily.

Cartwright has managed to clinch.
Bared is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Cartwright jumps guard and drags Bared to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bared has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cartwright is proving hard to escape from.
Cartwright manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bared manages to get himself to full guard.

Cartwright is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cartwright not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Cartwright has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bared is looking to stand up but Cartwright isn't so interested in that idea.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Cartwright has a takedown stuffed.
Cartwright tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bared swivels and escapes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cartwright takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Bared throws a lazy head kick

and Cartwright moves into the clinch.
Cartwright lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bared backwards.
Cartwright has had enough of the clinch but Bared keeps him there for the moment.
Cartwright tries to circle away but Bared has him pinned against the cage.
Bared wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bared wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cartwright is looking to take this one to the mat.
Bared lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Bared has had enough of the clinch but Cartwright keeps him there for the moment.
A head punch on the inside from Bared fails to land.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bared can't break the clinch.
Bared is trying to force a seperation but Cartwright has the dominant position.
Cartwright jumps guard but Bared stands there with Cartwright around his waist. Cartwright gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

JC Cartwright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Bared's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Bared throws a hook to the side of Cartwright's head but Cartwright sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Nice takedown defense from Bared. No joy for Cartwright on that attempt.
Bared throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Cartwright is rocked!
Bared and Cartwright are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Bared throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Cartwright into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Bared knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
