Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joanderson Ribeiro (ranked 3373 p4p, 2003 weight class) and Arthur Pugsley (ranked 332 p4p, 207 weight class). Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joanderson Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arthur Pugsley!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pugsley scores with a takedown into Ribeiro's guard.
Pugsley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ribeiro is on top in guard.

Ribeiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pugsley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ribeiro creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Pugsley is pushing Ribeiro up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Come on Pugsley - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are getting on Pugsley's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pugsley working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Ribeiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ribeiro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pugsley circles away quickly and effectively.

That was a close round but I would say that Joanderson Ribeiro will probably get the nod.

A less than humble Joanderson Ribeiro misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
