The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sabanov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Goober looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Goober tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sabanov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sabanov goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Goober has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sabanov but great work by Goober.

Goober thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sabanov explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Sergey Sabanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sabanov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And Sabanov tries to counter it with a takedown but Goober pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Goober takes a swing at Sabanov's ribcage but misses.

Goober wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sabanov keeps working.
Sabanov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Goober asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Sabanov is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Goober is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sabanov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sabanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goober. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
