Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manus Murphy (ranked 2512 p4p, 3172 weight class) and Grand Admiral Thrawn (ranked 320 p4p, 400 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manus Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grand Admiral Thrawn!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy shoots in looking for a takedown but Thrawn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Murphy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Thrawn feints a counter leg kick.
Thrawn throws a jab when Murphy was well out of range.
Thrawn scores with a sloppy right hand. Murphy should have avoided that one.
Murphy shoots in but Thrawn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Murphy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thrawn's waist but Thrawn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Murphy off to one side.

Thrawn bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

We've been hearing good reports from Murphy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Murphy shoots in looking for a takedown. Thrawn tries to sprawl out of it but Murphy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thrawn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Despite being in a bad position, Thrawn is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.

Thrawn is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Murphy has the hooks in. Thrawn is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Murphy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Thrawn has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
