Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zac Crawford (ranked 3593 p4p, 4802 weight class) and Julian McGavin (ranked 350 p4p, 0 weight class). McGavin has chosen Jersey Shore intro song as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Julian McGavin!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGavin leaves Crawford with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Crawford tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McGavin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McGavin stuffs the takedown.
Crawford throws a low kick but McGavin moves out of range easily.
Crawford sets himself, and McGavin steps forward looking for the clinch! Crawford avoids it this time.
McGavin cracks Crawford with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
McGavin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Crawford's head backwards.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McGavin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Crawford - the referee stops the clock and McGavin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Crawford. McGavin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Zac Crawford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGavin closes the distance and pushes Crawford back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crawford jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McGavin walks away with a smile on his face. Crawford gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and McGavin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McGavin wants to control from the top but Crawford keeps moving.
McGavin tries to free his leg and advance position but Crawford is retaining full guard.
McGavin throws a big elbow that misses.

McGavin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Crawford is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGavin, into his guard.

Crawford keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McGavin's head.

Crawford has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McGavin is proving hard to escape from.
McGavin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Crawford wants to control from the top but McGavin keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Crawford fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McGavin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Crawford closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGavin circles away.

It looks like Zac Crawford has been cut.

and McGavin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crawford's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Crawford has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. McGavin has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
McGavin blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Crawford tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McGavin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McGavin feints the counter takedown.
Crawford misses with a wild body shot.

Crawford looks for a takedown but McGavin sprawls well.
Crawford fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGavin avoids it really well and circles away.

Crawford shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGavin pinned against the cage. McGavin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McGavin misses with a few strikes there.

Crawford is refusing to be controlled, as McGavin sits in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McGavin lands a nice short elbow.
McGavin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Crawford is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McGavin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McGavin's back!

Crawford is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McGavin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McGavin for a finish.
