PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Jackson (ranked 4423 p4p, 5754 weight class) and Sambar Bumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to land a front kick but Bumi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bumi bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bumi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Bumi's legs - danger averted.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bumi dives on top into guard.

Jackson tries to score with a low kick but Bumi moves his leg out of the way.

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bumi was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bumi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jackson defends well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bumi has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jackson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bumi breaks from the clinch.
Bumi lands a glancing blow to the side of Jackson's head.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bumi as he jumps to the side.
As Jackson backs off Bumi throws a huge counter combo but Jackson manages to avoid it all.
Bumi shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson looks to land a combination but Bumi avoids it well.

Sambar Bumi dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jackson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bumi did well to prevent Jackson getting side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bumi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bumi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bumi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Bumi tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bumi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well Bumi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
