Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Roy (ranked 63 p4p, 193 weight class) and Bryant Smith (ranked 7 p4p, 29 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Television - Marquee Moon. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Smith throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Roy swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Roy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Smith - the referee stops the clock and Roy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Smith. Roy manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Roy lands with a nice body punch.

Smith throws a looping overhand right but Roy ducks down to avoid it.
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Roy.

Roy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Roy there as he acknowledges the shot.

Roy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Roy's shoulder, as Roy tries to avoid the shot.
It looked like Roy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Roy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
A bone on bone clash there as Roy blocks the leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bryant Smith dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Smith in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Smith connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Roy lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

A little feinted left hand from Roy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Roy.
