Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ife Edwards (ranked 213 p4p, 355 weight class) and Lou Higgins (ranked 35 p4p, 52 weight class). Edwards comes to the cage accompanied by Damian Marley - Road to Zion. Lou Higgins is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ife Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards tests Higgins's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Higgins stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Edwards.
Edwards thumps Higgins with a low kick.
Higgins ducks under a wild hook from Edwards.
Higgins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Edwards.
Higgins looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Edwards fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Higgins is out of range.
Higgins jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwards moves forwards but Higgins connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Edwards seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Higgins misses with a body shot
and Higgins takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Higgins clobbers Edwards with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Edwards moves out of range as Higgins strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Edwards. Higgins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Higgins throws a lazy right hand but Edwards sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A quick step to the side and Edwards tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Good exchange - Edwards coming out on top.
Good work by Higgins as he checks the leg kick.
Higgins misses with an uppercut.
Edwards misses with a hook to the body
letting Higgins counter with a right hand.
Higgins throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
An attempted straight right counter from Edwards misses the target.
Edwards swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Higgins misses with a left hand
and Edwards makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Higgins lands a left and a right that send Edwards crashing to the mat, dazed. Higgins thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Edwards is rocked!

It looks like Ife Edwards has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edwards moves away from the strike by Higgins.
Edwards looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Higgins throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Higgins throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Edwards sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Higgins feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Edwards sprawling to the canvas! Edwards rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Higgins finish him?!
Oh Edwards is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edwards uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Higgins.
Edwards was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Edwards seems to have got his legs back now.
Higgins swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Higgins cracks Edwards with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Edwards tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Higgins pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Edwards is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lou Higgins!
After winning the bout, Lou Higgins thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
