The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gable is looking to clinch but Magomedov is avoiding it.
Tagir Magomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Gable throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Magomedov drives through and clinches with Gable against the cage.
Magomedov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gable pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gable closes the distance but Magomedov moves to the side
and Magomedov counters with a one-two to the body.
Gable's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Magomedov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gable scrambles back to his feet.

Magomedov is wriggling around but Gable manages to pass to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Magomedov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gable on the ground.

and Magomedov counters with a series of strikes. Gable will be more careful next time no doubt.
Gable takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Gable tries to close the distance and clinch but Magomedov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Magomedov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Magomedov wants it to stay on the feet.
Gable fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Magomedov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gable moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

And Gable tries to counter it with a takedown but Magomedov pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Magomedov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Gable doesn't manage to clinch there - Magomedov circles away.
Magomedov moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Magomedov lands with a nice combination. Gable backs away looking to recover.
Magomedov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Magomedov cracks Gable with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Gable falls to his knees and Magomedov doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
