PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernest Graves (ranked 53 p4p, 52 weight class) and Tacitus Kilgore (ranked 6 p4p, 5 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 28 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tacitus Kilgore!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilgore throws a looping overhand right but Graves ducks down to avoid it.
Graves lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Graves stuns Kilgore with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Graves throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fighters circling - Kilgore throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kilgore throws a looping overhand right but Graves ducks down to avoid it.
Graves swings for the body but Kilgore moves out of range.

Kilgore throws out a counter right but Graves avoids it with no problem.

Graves has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tōshi in the buildup to the fight.
Graves digs a good body shot into Kilgore's ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Graves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Graves misses with a head shot. Kilgore uses the momentum to regain guard.

Graves is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Tacitus Kilgore's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tacitus Kilgore's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

An out of breath Ernest Graves thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
