Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson scores with a nice strike.

It looks like Mick Wheller has been cut.

Wheller throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thompson was covering up waiting for the punch and Wheller finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wheller slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Thompson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wheller is controlling him.
Wheller sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Wheller has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Thompson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Thompson tries to get out of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wheller has managed to clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thompson pushes Wheller back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Wheller tries to pull guard but Thompson holds him up against the cage and eventually Wheller drops back down to his feet.

Wheller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thompson connects with a crisp jab.
Mick Wheller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wheller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
