Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Van Lenden (ranked 2954 p4p, 4609 weight class) and Samir M Night (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Van Lenden might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Zanger Rinus - Met Romana Op De Scooter . Dirk Van Lenden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Lenden closes the distance looking to clinch
and Night counters with a one-two to the body.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Night has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Van Lenden pulls guard.
Night preventing the sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Van Lenden escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Night gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Night closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Van Lenden's guard.

Van Lenden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Van Lenden bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Night's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Van Lenden is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Night knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Night for a finish.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dirk Van Lenden.
I think Night has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
