The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Rocket. Rose does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rose misses with a lunging right hand
and Rocket counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rose slips under a jab from Rocket.
Rose tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rose lands with a hook. Rocket tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rose is looking to clinch.
Rose throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rocket connects with a nice looking jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rose darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Rose scores with a hook to the body. Rocket takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Rose tests Rocket's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rocket scores with a jab. Rose acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Rocket throws a good cross that connects.
Rocket lands with a shot to the body.
Rocket ducks under a wild hook from Rose.
Rose throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rocket sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rose moves in looking to clinch but Rocket pushes him off.
Rocket on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rose throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rocket swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Rocket displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rose throws out the jab.
Rocket swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

A telegraphed right hand from Rocket misses the target.
A jab from Rose does it's job there.
Rose misses with an uppercut

and Rocket counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rose won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rocket tries to score with some ground and pound. Rose controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Rocket has an Americana. Rose didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rocket is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rocket hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
