Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aahil Mohammad!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leg Day!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Day gets caught napping as Mohammad dives in and scores a takedown. Day manages to retain guard.
Mohammad is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mohammad definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mohammad is looking to work some ground and pound but Day has wrist control.
Day bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mohammad's guard.

Mohammad pulls Day in close to prevent any damage.
Mohammad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Day looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mohammad is looking to sweep but instead, Day has passed into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Day wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mohammad keeps working.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Day tries to clinch there but Mohammad circles away.
Mohammad has his takedown stuffed
and Day counters with a big head kick but Mohammad shrugs it off.
Aahil Mohammad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mohammad takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Mohammad throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Day's waist but Day gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mohammad off to one side.
Mohammad dives in for a single leg takedown but Day sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aahil Mohammad. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mohammad is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Day is defending well.
Mohammad has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Day avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mohammad drops down looking for an ankle pick but Day pulls his leg out and moves away.
Day throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mohammad walks forward, straight into a front kick from Day.
Day lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Mohammad shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Day napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Mohammad's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Day decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Day throws a head kick that misses.
Day throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Day turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Day finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Mohammad has his takedown stuffed
and Day counters with an inside leg kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mohammad is defended easily by Day.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Leg Day dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Day throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Day pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mohammad takes a knee to the side of the body.
Day has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Day tries to land knees in the clinch but Mohammad avoids the damage to the body.

Day breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Day scores with a kick to the midsection.
Day explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Day thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Mohammad if he has to take too many more of those.
Day scores with a head kick. Mohammad tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

A slapping body kick lands there for Day.
Day throws a head kick that half lands.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Day fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mohammad has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Day moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Mohammad tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Leg Day showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action!

Mohammad shoots for a double leg takedown but Day sprawls well. He's pushed Mohammad's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Whack! Day lands a heavy head kick that drops Mohammad. The ref tackles Day to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Mohammad was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Leg Day!

During a confident post fight interview, Leg Day thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
