Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pike Merry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Sonnen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merry tries to sprawl but Sonnen drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sonnen working over Merry with some ground and pound. Merry looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Merry is looking to escape.
Sonnen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Sonnen scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sonnen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sonnen stops Merry from getting back to his feet.
Sonnen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Sonnen has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Merry!
Merry looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Merry really wants to buck Sonnen off and get back to his feet.
Sonnen is landing with some decent strikes but Merry is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Sonnen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Merry can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
