Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sage Mace (ranked 4997 p4p, 3841 weight class) and Guilherme Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sage Mace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mace moves into the clinch.
Mace is trying to push Carvalho away but Carvalho has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Carvalho wants to get back to striking at distance but Mace won't allow it.
Carvalho stops a takedown attempt from Mace.

Mace has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carvalho after a bit of a struggle.

Mace pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Carvalho paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Mace swings around for an armbar but Carvalho sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mace's guard.

Carvalho drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mace manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carvalho has Mace in his guard.

Mace has gone for a leg lock! Carvalho slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mace's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carvalho is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mace is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mace has escaped and now he's on top!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mace takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mace walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Carvalho tries to bum rush Mace with a series of wild strikes but Mace uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mace is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Carvalho.

Mace throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carvalho was covering up waiting for the punch and Mace finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Carvalho postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mace is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carvalho, into his guard.

Carvalho is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mace is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mace reaches up around Carvalho's neck trying to control. But Carvalho takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Mace! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Mace is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Carvalho celebrates the victory with the fans!
