Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Mesquita (ranked 3679 p4p, 4297 weight class) and Kovalevsky Petrov (ranked 434 p4p, 494 weight class). Kovalevsky Petrov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov misses with a few strikes there.
Petrov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mesquita.

Mesquita shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Petrov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mesquita definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mesquita is working Petrov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Petrov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mesquita can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mesquita got a little sloppy there for a moment and Petrov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mesquita has managed to get both his arms back between Petrov's legs - danger averted.
