Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Vanegos (ranked 7016 p4p, 5843 weight class) and Nick Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Vanegos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Adams!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanegos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Adams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vanegos's guard.

Adams darts in looking for a takedown but Vanegos gets double underhooks and turns Adams into the cage.

And Adams tries to counter it with a takedown but Vanegos pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Vanegos goes for a double leg but Adams avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Adams continues to drive forward.

Vanegos has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Adams is on him like a limpet, forcing Vanegos back against the cage.
Vanegos is pressed up against the cage. Adams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vanegos down to the mat. Vanegos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Adams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
