The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a right hand that misses
and Wright counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Jones scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wright is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard.

Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Jones wants to pass to mount but Wright is defending the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wright's guard.

Dan Jones dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wright lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming.
Wright connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

and Wright cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A shot to the liver by Jones. Beautiful body shot.
Dan Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Wright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones wants to control from the top but Wright keeps moving.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jones with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Wright to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jones is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Wright pulls down on the head and he's put Jones to sleep! This one is all over!
