Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dominik Dlask (ranked 3734 p4p, 4030 weight class) and Tapani Kangas (ranked 402 p4p, 433 weight class). Tapani Kangas will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dominik Dlask!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tapani Kangas!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dlask fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kangas avoids it really well and circles away.

Kangas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dlask to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dlask trying to control but Kangas is working from the bottom.
Dlask throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kangas keeping full guard, as Dlask tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dlask postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dlask accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dlask throws an elbow that misses. Kangas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dlask's guard. Nice move by Kangas!

Dlask is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dlask looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kangas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dlask is nestled in close to Kangas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dominik Dlask dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dlask takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dlask or perhaps it was just good defense by Kangas, which made it look bad.
Dlask is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kangas can do to turn this around?
Dlask tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kangas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dlask somewhat.
Kangas leaves Dlask with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominik Dlask. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dlask walks into a stiff left hand from Kangas.

Dlask fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kangas sprawls well initially but Dlask persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dlask thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kangas's head.

Dlask takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Dlask is thwarting Kangas's attempts to control the position.
Dlask wants to pass to mount but Kangas is defending the position.
Kangas is pressing down on Dlask's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Dlask throws a big elbow that misses.
Kangas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dlask slips nicely into half guard.
Kangas is trying to control but can't.

Dlask wants to take a breather but Kangas is having none of it.
Dlask is really struggling to control Kangas but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Dlask looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Dlask thows a huge punch but Kangas dodges it nicely.

Kangas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dlask throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dlask is looking to take a break and control but Kangas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kangas wants to control but Dlask is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dominik Dlask overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dlask missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Dlask works his foot free and advances to mount.
Dlask with shots to the head and body - Kangas looks very uncomfortable down there.
The referee warns Kangas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
BOOM! Dlask connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dlask lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Dlask looking to ground and pound but Kangas is blocking nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kangas is breathing heavily.
Dlask lands with some strikes.
Dlask throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kangas because Dlask loaded up on that one.
BOOM! Dlask connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kangas is rocked!
A big strike lands for Dlask! That's really hurt Kangas and he's turned his back - Dlask keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Dlask jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominik Dlask!
