Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denny Granino (ranked 4665 p4p, 4759 weight class) and Geraint Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 554 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to bum rush Granino with a series of wild strikes but Granino uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Granino drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jones sprawls and moves away.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Granino circles away quickly and effectively.
Granino is looking to counter the offense by Jones and move into the clinch.
A big left from Granino misses.
Jones is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Granino bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Granino tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jones manages to circle out of the way.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Granino is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Jones throws a counter combo.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Granino appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
A combination from Jones does no damage.
Jones throws a right hand that Granino ducks under and follows up with a left that Granino also avoids with ease.
Geraint Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones looks to land a combination but Granino avoids it well.
Jones stalks Granino and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Granino's face. Granino staggers backwards, shaken.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

so Granino counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Granino looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Granino bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Granino drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!

Jones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
You can see the frustration on Granino's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Geraint Jones dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones looks to land a combination. Granino sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Oh Granino is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jones shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Granino is on queer street and Jones is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
