The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smiff tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yung Gai swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Yung Gai moves in looking to clinch but Smiff pushes him off.
Smiff changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Smiff shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yung Gai pinned against the cage. Yung Gai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

And Smiff tries to counter it with a takedown but Yung Gai pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Yung Gai lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Smiff isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Yung Gai stacks Smiff on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Yung Gai!

Smiff has gone for a leg lock! Yung Gai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smiff's guard.

Smiff had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yung Gai defends it easily.

Smiff throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Yung Gai escapes and throws Smiff's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That was a close second round but I would say that Sum Yung Gai will probably get the nod.

A looping hook to the body misses from Yung Gai. Smiff does a little dance to reset his feet.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Yung Gai here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Smiff tries to clinch up but Yung Gai pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Smiff to the mat! Smiff covers up and Yung Gai unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
