The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald dips to his left and cracks Munhoz with an uppercut!
McDonald misses with a double jab.

Munhoz half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
McDonald fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Munhoz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

McDonald cracks Munhoz with a right hand to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDonald catches Munhoz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Alex Munhoz has been cut.
Munhoz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Munhoz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McDonald uses from the top position.
Munhoz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Munhoz is on top in guard.

McDonald wants to stand and escape but Munhoz is having none of it.

Munhoz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

McDonald felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
McDonald really wants to buck Munhoz off and get back to his feet.

Munhoz is looking to work his way around to McDonald's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Munhoz is working for a guillotine from mount but McDonald frees his head quite easily.

McDonald throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Munhoz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Munhoz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
McDonald's corner calls for a 1-2. McDonald obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

McDonald lands with a hook. Munhoz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McDonald throws a nice looking combination but Munhoz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Munhoz counters with a nice double leg into side control. McDonald won't be happy with that.
McDonald gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Munhoz moves to take his opponent's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Munhoz is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but McDonald won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Munhoz off his unconscious opponent!
