Nippon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Poutine looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nippon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Poutine, who protects the arm well.
We've been hearing good reports from Nippon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Nippon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Poutine is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Nippon is working Poutine over with some ground and pound from side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nippon has hold of Poutine's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Poutine tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nippon cranks the arm and Poutine screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Poutine, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
