The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Alvarez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gomes.
Alvarez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gomes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alvarez defends it nicely.
Jackson Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronaldo Gomes.

Gomes shoots in but Alvarez avoids the takedown attempt easily.

It looked like Alvarez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Gomes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alvarez's waist but Alvarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gomes off to one side.

Alvarez missing with a left hand there. Gomes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gomes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Alvarez defends it well.
Alvarez cracks Gomes with an open hand slap.

Alvarez Throws a clean left jab. Alvarez Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Gomes's chin! Gomes crumbles to the ground and Alvarez follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Alvarez!
