Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Malone (ranked 4666 p4p, 4664 weight class) and Victor Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Higgins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Higgins closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Higgins lands in his opponent's guard.
Malone working for submissions but it's allowed Higgins to get to half guard.
Higgins with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Higgins postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Malone to stand up.

Malone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Higgins avoids it really well and circles away.
Higgins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malone is trying to defend but Higgins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Malone pushes Higgins off but Higgins dives into side control.
Malone is trying to work for a sweep but Higgins has mounted him!
Malone is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Higgins has taken his back.
Higgins biding his time, controlling Malone.

Malone trying to control the hands but Higgins breaks the grip.

Higgins connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Malone to escape the position.

Higgins keeps control of the position easily here as Malone tries to buck him off.
Higgins is working for a rear naked choke. Malone is not defending it well and Higgins has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Malone refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Malone's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Victor Higgins!
A very excited looking Victor Higgins rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
