The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gigolo postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Eketone to stand up.
Gigolo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gigolo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Eketone.
Eketone throws a lazy right hand but Gigolo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Gigolo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Eketone lands a jab to Gigolo's midsection.
Eketone fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gigolo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Gigolo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gigolo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gigolo wants to pass the guard but Eketone is keeping the position.
Eketone utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from Gigolo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Gigolo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Gigolo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gigolo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A big right from Eketone misses.
Gigolo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eketone's waist but Eketone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gigolo off to one side.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A punch lands to the side of Gigolo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Eketone throws the left hand but Gigolo avoids the punch easily.
Gigolo shoots in but Eketone avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gigolo winds up and cracks Eketone with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Gigolo is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Eketone is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Eketone flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gigolo anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Eketone and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gigolo slips an arm under Eketone chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gigolo has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gigolo is squeezing on Eketone like an anaconda would it's prey. Eketone fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
