Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kazuo Takashi!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takashi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Azevedo Souza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Takashi misses with a hook
and Azevedo Souza cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Takashi fails with an attempt to clinch.
An attempted straight right counter from Azevedo Souza misses the target.
Azevedo Souza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
It looked like Azevedo Souza wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Takashi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Azevedo Souza sprawls well initially but Takashi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Takashi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Azevedo Souza!

Takashi tries to take Azevedo Souza's back but instead Azevedo Souza uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Azevedo Souza is staying active underneath Takashi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Takashi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Azevedo Souza is just riding it out for now. Takashi eventually gives up the hold.

Takashi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Azevedo Souza keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Takashi is looking to clinch.
Miguel Azevedo Souza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Takashi blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Takashi tries to score a body lock takedown but Azevedo Souza shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Takashi can't find room to land a body shot as Azevedo Souza controls the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kazuo Takashi dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A cross from Takashi lands.
Takashi darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Takashi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takashi shoots in for a takedown but Azevedo Souza shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Azevedo Souza is looking to counter punch.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Takashi tries to clinch but Azevedo Souza is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takashi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Azevedo Souza paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Takashi forces Azevedo Souza back against the cage and clinches.

Azevedo Souza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Takashi has taken the fight to the clinch.

Takashi has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Azevedo Souza clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Azevedo Souza is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kazuo Takashi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Azevedo Souza tries to escape but Takashi has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Takashi keeps control of the position easily here as Azevedo Souza tries to buck him off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Takashi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Azevedo Souza has freed his hand and lives to survive another well, another couple of seconds at least!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Azevedo Souza is trying to defend against the choke here but Takashi has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Takashi Tightens the hold and Azevedo Souza taps out furiously! Takashi displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kazuo Takashi! Kazuo Takashi retains his featherweight title!
Kazuo Takashi spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
