Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pedroca Altamiro (ranked 1593 p4p, 1936 weight class) and Simo Halli (ranked 238 p4p, 279 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halli shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Altamiro as he jumps to the side.
Halli dives in for a single leg takedown but Altamiro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Altamiro wants to stand up but Halli is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halli tries to free his leg and advance position but Altamiro is retaining full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Altamiro in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halli is looking to improve his position.
Halli is staying active underneath Altamiro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Altamiro decides to return to a standing position.

Halli shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Halli was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Halli is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Altamiro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Halli shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Altamiro sprawls well. Altamiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Halli gets slowly back to his feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Halli or perhaps it was just good defense by Altamiro, which made it look bad.
