Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Richard Gere (ranked 4670 p4p, 5934 weight class) and Ching Chong (ranked 0 p4p, 597 weight class). Ching Chong will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Gere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ching Chong!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Chong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chong has his takedown stuffed

and Gere holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Gere's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gere.
Gere lands an elbow.
Gere knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chong on the ground.
Gere is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Chong will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gere wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chong, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gere is trying to get an arm triangle but Chong is defending well.

Chong is looking for a sweep.
Chong takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chong is trying to control Gere's posture but Gere avoids it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chong is trying to escape the position but Gere is controlling the position.
Chong is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Chong takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
You can see the frustration on Chong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Check out the look on Gere's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gere clinches with his opponent.

Gere manages to break the clinch.
Chong changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gere tries to avoid it but Chong manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gere to the ground. Gere escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gere will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Gere closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Chong is rocked!
Gere scores with a big shot! Chong's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Chong! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
