Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hill Billy Hank (ranked 1562 p4p, 5749 weight class) and Reggie Barnes (ranked 233 p4p, 637 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hill Billy Hank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reggie Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hank shoots for a double leg takedown but Barnes sprawls well. He's pushed Hank's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barnes connects with a leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Barnes as Hank shoots in.
Hank shoots in for a takedown but Barnes shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hill Billy Hank. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hank lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Barnes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hank stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Barnes has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hank off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Hank will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Barnes appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Hank closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barnes quickly recovers to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barnes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hank haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hank is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barnes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hank fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Barnes fakes the leg kick and cracks Hank in the body.
Barnes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hank.
As Hank backs off Barnes throws a huge counter combo but Hank manages to avoid it all.

and Barnes counters with a straight right hand.
Barnes scores with the left hand. Hank knows he should have avoided that one.
Hank takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Barnes shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Barnes manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barnes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hank looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barnes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hank moves away.

Hank shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Barnes sprawls well. Barnes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hank gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck for Hank with that takedown attempt.
Barnes throws a fast counter high kick but Hank manages to duck under it in time.
A solid leg kick lands there for Barnes.
Barnes lunges at Hank with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hank's hand.
Hank shoots in for a takedown but Barnes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hank backing away here, and Barnes unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Barnes throws a front kick that sends Hank stumbling back into the cage.
Hank misses with a takedown attempt - Barnes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barnes tried to score with a low kick but Hank checks it.
Barnes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hank wants to clinch but Barnes slips to the side
and Barnes counters with a leg kick.

Barnes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

A solid leg kick lands there for Barnes.
Barnes does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hank shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barnes but Barnes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Barnes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hank is defended easily by Barnes.

Hank closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Barnes manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hank misses with a head shot. Barnes uses the momentum to regain guard.
Barnes lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Hank wriggles free and stands up.

and Barnes counters with a three punch combo that has Hank backing up. Hank nods at Barnes to acknowledge the strikes.
Barnes is looking to score with low kicks.
Hank doesn't manage to clinch there - Barnes circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hank wants a takedown.

Barnes manages to break the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Reggie Barnes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Reggie Barnes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
