PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulix Troy (ranked 5123 p4p, 5272 weight class) and Jon Christ (ranked 595 p4p, 605 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paulix Troy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jon Christ!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christ smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Christ connects with a body shot.

Christ felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Troy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Troy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Christ is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Troy asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Paulix Troy will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Christ, as that shot connected.

Christ drops Troy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Troy looks back up at him and smiles so Christ waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Troy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Christ tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Troy is in Christ's guard.

Christ wants to get back to his feet but Troy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Paulix Troy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Troy has his takedown stuffed

and Christ counters with a crisp one two that drops Troy! Christ thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Troy to his feet! Troy is in big trouble!
Christ is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Troy flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Troy is out cold! Christ holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jon Christ!
A relieved looking Jon Christ thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
